Prayer Letter

 September - October 2024

Dear Praying Friends, 

Some of you reading this letter will already have celebrated Thanksgiving, while others still anticipate it. We wish you all God’s blessings now and for the upcoming holidays. Christmas is right around the corner, and that concludes the year. It used to be that the old people talked about how time flies; now it seems I am in that group - not that I am nearly old yet. ☺ This observation reminds us of how little time remains until the saved will be in glory and the lost will suffer eternally. One does not like to think of the lost going to hell, but think of it we must. May we be motivated to do what God has called us to while we are here. 

Thank you for praying for the family in rehab. I visited them not long ago, and they were so happy to see me. They are not very encouraged in there and are waiting to get out. They are hungry for the Word of God and look forward to coming to church. Please pray for one of our long-attending men in the church. He is discouraged and won’t share his burden. He does admit to ongoing sin which no doubt is part of the problem. I pray he allows me and the church family to help bear his burden. Another family is moving farther away soon. They have attended for about two years and have grown. They are not very committed yet, and I am not sure they will continue coming. I believe it is God’s will that they make the sacrifice to attend, even though it will mean greater effort. Otherwise, our church is doing well. We saw one young man baptized in September, and his sister joined the church the same day. Praise God for building His church. 

We had a wonderful time with our children from Canada. The time was too short, but we are thankful. Elisha is a year now and almost walking. “Grandparenting” is definitely more fun in person! Mabel and Abe shared some exciting news with us while they were here: they are expecting another baby! We are so thrilled about this blessing! The rest of our family is also doing very well and staying busy with their respective duties. 

We have an evangelistic outreach planned for November 13-17. For those who read this before those dates, please pray for souls to be saved. Otherwise, please pray for those who have attended that God would have His way with them. 

We continue to evangelize in the area, and I have had some good opportunities to explain the gospel. One saved man was so blessed by our effort he asked me to visit his grandpa who is lost. A man in our church was able to lead another individual to the Lord. What a blessing to see our folks faithfully going out and sharing the gospel! 

Your continued support and prayers mean so much to us. We have had some extra offerings come in lately, and for that we especially thank you. This is an expensive time of year for numerous reasons. Several expenditures come due now, and the money received is a great blessing. May God bless you all for your generosity and love.
